view distance

my linux client keeps resetting the view distance to the lowest possible

i like to have a high or very high view.
And its a bit annoying setting it to high every 2nd or 3rd time.

could be related to crashes... im not sure

we all see the same problem in this household

seems to be related to crashes and you can usually do it by playing in a window and simply closing the window rather than exiting with the "escape" menu

It's turned into kind of a habit here to just check that while the loaders at the verifying stage.

it still happens a lot and sometimes other options are also messed up

Got the same. I will try to change the game.cfg... I'll report if the settings still reset

i thought about write-protecting my config, but it might break future updates

not only the options !!!

sometimes my Dex is about 8 Points to low.
I have to stop the Game and start again to set it right

thats something completly different.
there are bugged spells that keep ur stats low instead of letting them go back to normal as they should, after the spell is gone

Yes it might brake updates. So try without write protection?

Mine also does this in linux every so often.
I always have to check my settings when I bring up the game.
This is also a problem for windows, too. So it's not just a linux issue.
