Regarding the coming update
Lately there has been some frustration about the order of priority NGD gives to some subject. For instance that NGD at the moment only cares for graphics and that the current update is only a graphical one.
The character models(which includes a complete work over of all characters, armor and weapon parts of the game) are not the only thing included in coming March' update. The people of NGD who are not working at these graphical improvements which make use of the new engine are working a a large number of things like bug fixes, making the server more stable(less crashes), general server improvements and improving NGD's tools. Of course they do much more things besides this. A lot of this is not directly visible for normal users, since it includes a lot of under-the-skin changes. Not everything is listed on the changelogs. The roadmap will probably be released after the coming update, which will be in March. Regarding platinum boxes, they continue to give one handed weapons to barbarians too, since the box is class-specific and not subclass. However, after coming update NGD will start to implement dual wielding for barbarians alongside a revision of balance. Evades and resists will be looked upon as soon as NGD can free some time for it.

theres been in increadible improvement in terms of lag and crashes since i started playing at the end of 2009. ngd's done an amazing job in that department because if i remember correctly people used to crash every 20 minutes and invasions used to be a lag-fest. thats an achievement on its own not to mention the graphics updates etc. all those who complain about ngd not doing their jobs and have their priorities in the wrong place are just plain ungreatfull. this game is just awesome the way it is and with more improvements on the way its just gona get better.

Thank you. This is indeed good news.
Good job Dky. I hope to see a roadmap that is conservative in scope, and one that discusses what they hope to do rather than giving hard and fast time lines. Sometimes the community, in its eagerness could become a bit harsh when hard dates are not achieved. I think the community would like to see the vision and be able to become one with it again. Lately , too much of a gap in communication has been allowed to settle in here. Be brave NGD, maybe tell us what your scope is so we can see and allow the game to progress. Sometimes it is hard to understand the reason for little steps when you can't see the whole picture. Best Regards Artec |
