News about the new characters!
Hello everyone,
For those who already know and for those who don't, we have been working for months now in a big visual improvement on the playable characters. We are closer every day and we would like to announce that the release is planned for early April (exact date will be communicated further on). Meanwhile, starting this friday 5 of March, we'll be starting our internal tests on the experimental server (Amun). Once we have tweaked several issues, we will be able to go live with a public test version at the end of March. Last but not least, we'd like to take this opportunity to disclose a high quality rendering of two of the new characters. We hope you like them, Regnum Online Team

Now it took me 5 minutes to translate it for the IRC guys and you changed to English :P
Looking forward to test it! *thumbsup* Edit: I wonder how well the changes will be visible in Safemode

I suspect I'll get killed in the wz a lot more, as I just stand there going "I just want to look at'cha for a bit more."
"Killed more than you usually are? How can that be?" Quiet, you. |

A great deal better than Runescape's character graphics, that's for sure.
You've all done a great job here NGD. Will these new graphics be available to people with fast and slow computers? Because I know environment and shadow graphics are more fixed for the older computers, will this be the same? Oh, and will NPC's get the same treatment?

http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum...ighlight=polys The new models will only have lots of polys (5000-7000) up close, and far fewer (250-500) further away when it doesn't matter. The current models have the same number of polys (1000-1500) whether near or far. |

We are tweaking the engine as much as possible to keep the framerate similar to a current regular situation.
In terminal terms, there are more Level Of Detail levels that will allow great battles without loss of framerate (Simply put, as soon as a character gets away from you the system will change the model to a less detailed one. The important thing here is that some details are lost with the distance anyway). Regards,
