It all started about two years ago. A group of friends decided that they no longer desired to stay and fight alongside their fellow Syrtis and wanted to defect to Alsius. They knew they could not simply just walk to Alsius’ great gate and be expected to sworn fealty to the fallen emperors’ empire. They would be killed on site. The desire to leave drove them to study ancient tomes to try and find a way out of Syrtis. Rhanya, the most inclined to leave the green realm, studied tomes within Fisgael and discovered a conjuration process by which a portal could be opened that if they passed through would transform them into natural denizens of Alsius. The cost would be all the life experience that the three of them had obtained. Starting over in Alsius would be starting over a new.
Together Rhanya, Yawney and Kianoni drew the markings from the tome on the ground. The ritual was started at Stonehenge. Souls from the local Cyclops fueled the portal and as soon as it was open the three friends traversed realms. They left the land of Syrtis to awake in the land of Alsius. This transportation between realms left them with all they had wanted: a fresh start, a new place, and a disassociation with the mindless green zerg. Though they wanted to leave they still had fond memories of those they were leaving behind that were true friends. Upon the portal closing behind them, it took what was promised in exchange for this transfer. All of the life experience gathered so far was reduced. When Rhanya, Yawney and Kianoni awoke in Horus they only had shattered fragments of memory that were neither whole nor able to be interpreted. They only knew who they were and that they were changed. No longer did they resemble any Syrtian inhabitant, only before them they saw two nordos and a dwarf. They began to make their way in their new lives. Rhanya began again as a mage learning the dark arts of the warlocks, Yawney kept with the feeling in his gut of the love of the hunter and this seemed to influence Kianoni. Kianoni was a Knight before, but at this time he did not feel that the weight of armor should weigh him down and just wanted to run free. So with Yawney, Kianoni took up the responsibilities of a hunter. They each progressed in this new land, but felt the war raging instinct that made them join the frontlines of Syrtis bite back again in the pit of their stomachs. It gnawed until finally Rhanya pulled Yawney aside and discussed with him the possibility of starting a war clan. This prospect did not seem too encouraging to Yawney, but through Rhanya’s persistence he agreed. When looking to start this new clan and reaching Montsognir, they were surprised to see Alsius was not full of people. On Ra they had seen many valiant dwarves, Nordos and Utghars fighting for Alsius on the front lines. Where were they now? Rhanya approached the town crier Ursor, “excuse me, but is there a plague? Where have all the Alsians gone?” “Where have they gone? By Fenrir’s nuts woman are ye mad? We are in the middle of a population boom!” replied Ursor. “It is as if the heavens of Horus have opened and smiled on Alsius.” “Hor…us...” Yawney said as he seemed to lack an internal monologue at this point. All three companions seem to drift into a haze as pieces of broken memories began to come together and a small sinew of understanding developed of their origin. “Rhanya you said that spell would take us to Alsius, but you did not say we would be on an entirely different plane of existence” whispered Kianoni, a bit agitated. “Excuse me if ancient tomes do not come with the most exact explanations, but it did what we wanted. Just be glad we came here and our essences were not scattered across the various planes of existence.” Rhanya was somewhat incensed that her magic be called into question. “Let us head to the house of nobles to learn of the requirements so Yaw can start this war clan.” Once inside the great house of nobles in Montsognir they made headway towards the clan notary. In a squeaky mouse like voice he welcomed them, “my name is Asgeir. How may I be of service?” “Well Ass Gear, my friend Yawney here is interested in starting a war clan and would like to know the requirements” spoke up Kianoni. “The requirements are several and strict, but you’ll realize they are worth it. You need to gather a group of eight people, including yourself, and a proper amount of gold. All people in the group must have some life experience and capability. The amount of gold required is 2 million pieces that we collect as a tax. When you meet these requirements and you’re willing, come back to talk to me and you’ll be able to create your own clan.” With this in mind the three set out to collect more money and some random noobs to build the clan. This was not so difficult and soon they were back at the Asgeir to enter into the notary records the new clan. “Hey Ass Gear we have the people and the gold now” Yawney said, placing a bag of gold down on the table and pointing to the five new clan supporters. “Alright what is the clan’s name to be entered?” At this time Yawney, Rhanya and Kianoni huddled. “A name? How could we forget the name?” Kianoni said. Rhanya looked calmly around and asked hinting to look at the five new recruits, “what are they?” “Noobs” replied Yawney. “Well we are also noobs correct? So that kind of makes us the Masters of Noobs if we are forming a clan right?” “Rhan I don’t see where you’re going with this” Kianoni whispered. “Meh, we are the masters of noobs with this clan, so that should be our clan name. We recognize we are all noobs, they are noobs, our recruits will be noobs and we shall be in control. It fits.” “Well ok”, the huddle broke and Yaw gave the clan name to Asgeir. The gold was collected, which Asgeir could be seen pocketing at least 30% of it in a separate chest than those marked for clan taxes. “Alright by the authority vested in me by the fallen emperor I hereby decree that the land of Alsius recognizes the formation of the clan Masters of Noobs, but the aforementioned land will not be responsible for housing, hospitalization care or provide any discounts to the newly formed clan. Furthermore the clan will not be entitled to any land, fiefdoms or serfdoms as that fits in the realm of control of the nobles of Alsius. In addition, while any enemies you kill will garner you boasting rights – it does not at all give you any perks beyond that of a normal Alsian. What you do get is this rune that when drawn on your recruits will give you the ability to communicate with them across great distances. Congratulations and may you bring additional fortune to the empire, now get out.” While leaving the clan notaries office the group couldn’t help, but feel robbed a little. Two million gold and all they got was a rune that looked like it was a prize from a crackerjacks box. Days went by and the number of recruits entering the clan grew. First a couple un-notables joined that quit supporting Alsius shortly after and became pacifists quitting the clan. Then an eight foot tall Utghar conjurer named Sydonay and a four foot tall dwarf barbarian name Dain Ironfoot joined the clan. Following them a scrawny Nordo barbarian named Dark Barbairian joined as well. With all these new recruits seeing that there was not a structure of support for these new members, Yawney decided that a sort of council needed to be created. He issued an edict that stated “those who achieve the greatest good deeds will be granted a position within the ruling council of the clan and there is only one open spot left.” This edict immediately started a small rivalry between the 8 foot tall Utghar conjurer and the scrawny Nordo barbarian. Who would do the greatest good between these two, as the newly recruited dwarf seemed to lose interest in war? The Nordo barbarian pulled at the purse strings of his affluent grandmother in order to get the best gear and complete a variety of deeds, but his personality and his gall quickly diminished the returns. Not only was he getting gold from his grandmother, but he was also demanding gold from those he helped. The conjurer on the other hand was telling those he saved to ‘pay it forward’ for the greater good of Alsius. The differences in personality quickly put Sydonay in the last council seat and Dark Barbairian would not forget this. The outrage to losing to the Utghar Mage bred imperfection into the barbarian’s frame of mind, but he would not recognize his short comings to overcome them. Instead he had his grandmother pay off a warlock trainer to train the barbarian as a mage. He would get back at that goat by becoming the conjurers natural enemy, the Warlock. What he did not expect is that his mind had to be partially wiped and all of his skills as a barbarian had been removed. The warlock trainer was able to find a small spark of magic within and with the help of a conjurer friend, they pulled that spark into a developed mages mana pool. The transformation was complete and the newly constructed warlock returned to the Masters of Noobs, shedding his barbarian form, but also shedding parts of his hatred of Sydonay with the mind wipe procedure. Now known as Dark Warlock, he began anew, making the same mistakes he had before as a barbarian. Next story “Dark Warlock and the Great Staff of Gonorrhea” (Again this said "almost" true, some embellishments were necessary. Also we have a library in Montsognir, so yes we also have an archive.)
