Default Cast speed and how it relates to weapon speed?

I appologize for constantly spamming this section with random questions but i find it hard to get intelligent answers in-game.

My question is reguarding cast speed bonuses on weapons and how it relates to the speed of the respective weapon. For example: would a fast shortbow with +5% cast speed cast a spell faster than a slow longbow with the same +5% cast speed ignoring all other cast speed bonuses from gear or buffs?

No it wont. Cast speed is related to casting magics, and weapon speed / attack speed is related to speed of firing / hitting with your equipped weapon.

However there would seem to be some issue where for warriors at least the GCD cycle and the weapon speed both effect spell casts, many warriors will report firing off a spell and having to wait for both the gcd and a wep cycle.

I think when the patch went live NGD stated that spells having +attack are also bound to weapon speed.

Cast speed just effects spells, it reduces the casting time.
Fe: You have 5% cs on your gear and you want to cast Hawks Gaze. The normal casting time is 3 seconds, your gear reduces it by 5%: 3*0,95=2,85
Your weapon speed doesnt matter.

Attack speed is the time between your shots/hits (autohits, not the global cd!). 50% as reduce the time between your shots to the half.
