Hey guys!
I am tired of getting killed due to my computers inadequacy aka lag at the start of combat and unlag 15 mins later dead. Feel free to place suggestions here on what computer I should buy, and which ones work well for you! Thanks! |

anyways, i bought some parts there (CPU, GPU, MOBO, RAM) and its working just fine all together... and i think you could get those parts in your locale hardware/computer market: GPU: Gigabyte (nVidia) GeForce 460GTX OC CPU: Intel Core i3 530 "Clarkdale" MOBO: Gigabyte GA-P55N-USB3 ram is noname so i think there might be a better one

I'd go for one of Intel's new Sandy Bridge CPUs, preferably i7 or i5.
If you plan on using Windows, I would recommend an ATI Radeon HD 6870, if you also plan on using Linux you might consider an NVidia GeForce GTX 460. To not get any freeze lags you'll need a good HDD, don't go for storage space only but buy a fast 10k RPM HDD or an SSD.

Depends on how much you want to pay.
Anyway you won't regret it if you buy Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 (not P55N afaik :P)+ core i3 530, that's a cheap and still very decent combination. (It's sometimes possible to see cheaper i3 540 offers though, the higher the number the better :P) As for the RAM... You can just search on the board manufacturer's website for the board model open the compatibility list there and buy the cheapest RAM you can find :P (List for this board) That's just a dual core though, might not be that future-proof. If you want to pay a bit more (~90€ more): i5 2300 or 2400. (<- Quad core) (Board should be Gigabyte GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 then) (RAM list for this board) And the graphics card: HD 6850 or GTX 460 (1gb) or HD 6870 or HD 5870 or GTX 560. (cheap -> expensive) Depends again on how much you want to pay and a bit on your display. The bigger the resolution you play in the bigger the graphics card needs to be. I wouldn't buy a SSD, I've got no and I don't miss one. :P To me SSDs are just expensive useless junk. ![]()

And I am far from the only one, just google for "gtx 460 freeze". Sadly, imo. ATI is nowhere near NVidia when it comes to Linux driver support but for Windows that should not be any problem.
