actually, betelgeuse is about to blow up "soon".
the "soon" is astronomical so it can be tomorrow or it can be next decade. maybe it did all'ready but the light din't reach us yet (today estimates says it's 604 lightyears away). but when it does blow up (and we are able to see it) the super nova will shine very bright on our sky like a second moon, it will even be visible at day. it should last for about 14 days then the light disapears and where the once mighty star was, there will be darkness in our sky. RIP betelgeuse, orion will never be the same again

ye i read about this and must say, it's 100% human fantasy.
niburu should be a passing planet that "invades" our solar system every couple 3600 years. it was said to return in 2003 but since it din't happen the date was shifted to 2012 (seems like a flaw there) and since astronomical observation din't report a planet comming our way there is no way this is treu. +it said that the sumerians wrote about an event (having to do with that planet) in 11.000 BC, i see a small problem there and that is that the sumerians din't exist yet (invaded the euprath valley in 3500BC). also there is a whole lot of human fantasy, the planet was said to be inhabbited by reptiles, but reptiles and all life needs solar heat and light to survive. also it said that when they "invade" our planet they take virgins as loot, virgins where seen as very precious so in a human mind anno 4000BC this was the loot you wanted, even if you where a different specie.
