No fun playing on Horus ?

Playing on Ra i was thinking about playing Horus again perhaps.
Ra is fun, but Regnum Online simply is from a technical point of view a very poor game (too much lag, bugs). With the new save/invasion implementation the playing field is much smaller, so the huge lag is back again.
Playing with this lag (zerks of 50+/100+), you'll see a screen and on the next screen you are history, is not always that fun. PVP hardly ever happens, everyone runs 1 on 1 (but suppose that is on horus the same).
So that is why i thought perhaps try Horus again.

But .... actually i am bit shocked about what i read on this forum. Reading the forum it is clear that Alsius is the 'underlying' realm always. When i see they also got -XP they are getting from ignis .... and then the reactions on that from some ignis ( .... how low can you go, some sound like 8 year olds that beat up their brother of 4 daily and are really super proud of that, .... lol, get a live ).
but .... It is just a game, the intention is to have battles between 3 realms. No need to actually kill your neighbour for real if he/she plays another realm. You win some, you loose some, it is as simple as that.
Hopefully the reactions i read are from a small minority.

Then my question .... is Horus really as fucked up as i read on this forum ?

Horus is indeed "fucked up".

If I played Regnum, I would prefer to play my Alsian lvl 41 knight on Ra to my Alsian lvl 45 knight or barb on Horus, but I play only very rarely currently.

I switched from Ignis to Alsius and the situation for Alsius currently seems to me considerable worse than it has ever been for Ignis on Horus.

Maybe Horus can still be fun if you play Ignis vs Syrtis or Syrtis vs Ignis. If you love to hunt, to grind or if you love PvP's, the realm balance is probably not as important and you could also have some fun in Alsius.

Join alsius. If the problem they have is population take some more ppl from ra there. Help the "little brother" out. As has been said it sucks to be alsius im sure. However alsius has always been underpop. no one wants to be a dwarf or a goat. thats why its underpop. They might be being driven into extinction by ppl playing the game but who is to say.

Ignis and syrtis have plenty of players. However I would say anyone is welcome but Alsius im sure could use some seasoned ra players. There are pvps that take place, the lag isnt as bad on horus since we dont have nearly the population of ra.

Playing Alsius will drive you to drinking. Is it really morally correct to bring more players into it, even if it would help in the long term? It's that many more people who are under stress and feeling like ragequitting daily. It would ultimately be impossible for us to reach the numbers of Syrtis and Ignis, as that only happened once in history and for two very distinct reasons. The first is that transfers were made available for free, and the second is that many of the Ignis and Syrtis players came to Alsius to help our population problem. But they didn't stay!

Think about this: How many players (a hundred? more?) have levelled in Alsius, spent alot of money and are being driven to quit daily by all of the changes and actions since the Warmaster update. It may just be a game, and enemies may just be doing their job, and NGD may be doing their "best", but it doesn't change anything. These are people who have worked hard, spent their hard-earned money on a mere online game, and can't even enjoy it one bit. Many of us log on for a single hour and then spend a few hours after regretting how much money we spent on the game. I don't think it's right to bring more players into this "trap", just in the faint hope that the situation will one day improve. It would probably be better to wait until NGD makes some real effort to fix the problem; otherwise each player who gets trapped is that much more unlikely to return to the game, actually reducing the number of players that Alsius has available in the long-term if some things were to be fixed. We would be sacrificing our long-term support just to get a temporary population boom that wouldn't even last due to the existing issues that would continue.

TL;DR: If you play in Syrtis or Ignis your gameplay will be pretty okay. Syrtis has consistent zerg power and Ignis has consistent coordination. I don't think that joining Alsius is the right decision - morally - as it gives players a warped perception of Regnum Online for the moment.

Maybe equaling the numbers of Syrtis has only happened once, but Ignis and Alsius have always been pretty back and forth as far as numbers go.

Even syrtis has its days believe me. Time zones play a big part i would think too, but not as much as dissapointment at how things are going. Lately i log on and there is a whole 4 of us on - wow.
