There have been many threads about this, and they even made a statement about it. I think it has something to do with the sever problem we had earlier last week- and of course they're looking into it.
It has been pretty awful though, I've had the normal occasional ----k+ lag spike, but it seems like I've been getting a lot more spikes of 500-1000 lately and when it happens I see the average go between 1-3k. A lot more people dropping and running in place.
