Steam user asking for help with inivisible cursor?

Friend asked me to across post to tech support here from steam forums. Steam user's mouse is somehow vanishing on his windows Regnum install.

extract: "On screen mouse issue.. For some reason, just with this game, my on screen mouse is invisible. Anyone else with this issue?"

anyone have any ideas?
