Website feedback
Hi everyone!
I've seen a lot of feedback about the game, tons of useful threads. I also see that you're always saying to give up (I don't blame you) but I'm sure that in a near future they will be very useful. But let's go to what I need you to help me with now: There are some changes coming to the website about registration (minor, but they will make it easier to sign up). But, leaving aside some known bugs, there is almost no information in the forum about in which ways the website is faulty or lacks of needed functionality. If you're willing to help me, I'd be grateful! Basically, mention what the site lacks and would be useful and what is not working as it should. Thank you again! |

I have not seen another game with such annoying registration system as this one has now. The only advice I can give you -as a layman- is to look closely to the registration systems of other games and find one who suits you best. I am sure other players will give you more and better advices. Greetings |

Old rankings are exactly that: old. They are not shown because they prescribed due to the enormous amount of time it took to process them and only for the first 30 places. New rankings allow to process them quickly for all the playerbase. Please be more specific about what you would like to see. Thanks!
It will be similar to a lot of websites, a few less steps and the obligation of having a confirmed email. This last thing will solve most of the problems you say about losing the account. About policies with the information we ask about, please make a different topic for that, let's not derail the thread as it would make it useless for the feedback I need. |

Be nice if changing ranking options used Ajax instead of a slow page reload every time.
The site in general looks very dated.. XML syndication on forums and a basic API on rankings would be appreciated. It would definitely help fans create phone apps and/or fan-based websites improving CoRs online visibility.

Well for starters, update it regularly.
This is one of what it's missing. http://www.championsofregnum.com/for...ad.php?t=43965 Not to mention the whole screenshots should be changed as the UI is around...what? 1year old? Make an official rule list. It has been mentioned a lot of times like here: http://www.championsofregnum.com/for...ighlight=Rules Here: ( Even though it's old, the main point remains the same) http://www.championsofregnum.com/for...ighlight=Rules Quote:
And you might want to re-new this: http://www.championsofregnum.com/for...90&postcount=1 I'll update my post when other ideas hit me.

It's difficult to find installer download link! It took me 10 minutes to find it. I'm registered user and when I click the big red button PLAY NOW, registration form is shown, even I'm logged in.
I saw Download link in Media menu, but I haven't clicked it because I don't want to download media but game installer. The best solution is to use PLAY NOW button: For unregistered / not logged in users -> show register / login form For logged users -> click on button loads Download page

A link to the changelog should be available under either the "About" section or the "Media" section.
The game guide located under "About" needs a revamp. Some brief description of what this is all about must be the first thing anyone sees there. Make it interactive then, and go step-by-step. E.G.: Are you ready to jump into the never-ending war of Champions Of Regnum? [Continue link/button; another text (always accompanied by some images) shows up when clicked]. So, what will you choose? Syrtis (background story / races), Ignis (background / races), or Alsius (background / races). [Let user pick realm by clicking on its name/shield/image; moves on to another section]. So... you have chosen X, now it's time to shape your future. (Classes and Subclasses explanation) [When user chooses one; he's taken to a congratulations page]. It will have links to, as the drop-down menu "About"; this same guide again "Interactive Walk-through", a basic UI guide "UI Guide", advanced game mechanics info (invasions, etc...) "RvR guide"... of course feel free to add more guides if needed. The videos section under "Media" needs to have a main frame for an intro video as it is now, and a column to the left (much like youtube suggestions) to watch more RO videos, preferably user-made, gameplay videos, handpicked by the staff. There will of course be some things I'm missing. I don't think the overall style of the website should be changed... I like its kinda classy look & feel, but that's my personal opinion; it might seem dated to other users. Cheers!

Also, as masterkick said, you need to make it so user-gameplay videos are present in the video section. How to do this? Coding it to link to youtube+search of "regnum videos" or whatever would be easiest way. But a lot of those videos suck. Handpicking would take too much time. Maybe have several people from each server find videos to vote on, then the forum/community votes on them each week or something. I would suggest each server's videos in a different frame or something of the sort. Then having the most upvoted/liked or w.e in the main frame.
Actually, linking it to youtube videos and having people being able to like them to the top would be a good idea. Then it refreshes the count ever week. However, I feel as if people would severely abuse this. |
