View Full Version : Lvl'ing w/out conj. for Hunters/Marksman

I found a very good leveling strategy for marksmen or hunters that are within two levels of each other(might work for mage but I don't know cause of range) when I was leveling today:guitar: . If you are with another person, make a triangle with your friend and the mob. Have your friend attack first, and then follow. The mob will run back and forth in between you, and if you run back a little bit as you shoot, it will run back and forth like a monkey(or in my case, an aquantis) in the middle, not sure of which to hit until it dies. I can repeatedly do it without getting any damage at all if it's done right. This is a very useful method of grinding when you don't have a conjuror around.
Is this common knowledge? I don't know, so I figured I might as well post it.;)
P.S. Is this a bug or just a cool strategy? Cause if it's a bug I don't wanna be exploiting it.

Not a bug, and is a common lvling technique with 2 or 3 archers (and no pets) ;)
Also, this technique is most efficient if both/all archers use the same weapon speed.

I've managed to do this with my conju and ranged summons and I've seen hunters do this with ranged pets.
Yes that is common to play "ping pong" with non-ranged mobs and is just the way mob AI works.

u cant do this with mobs between lvl 1 and 15, because they have another IA, soon all the mobs will have the new one, and this technique will not work :ohill:

I hope they don't go on with this STUPID AI. NDG if you read me, please hear: the new AI is incredibly bad and lame, I leveled two chars since it was on 1-15 mobs and most new players hate it (whether they played before or not). It's just bad :( (and I'm not talking about the "tank with your pet" or not bit, because you still can do it, I'm talking about the "run everywhere" bit). Exping is already a pain and holds no interest whatsoever except discovering the game and having a PvP-ready char, it's already long enough imho, this will only make it worse.

the new "AI" is no AI but as we call it in internet slang: teh suck
Either leave the old behaviour that the higherlvl mobs have or invent some decent AI, but not this runaway or follow-endlessly game.
Or just make the mobs do it sometimes. Lets say 5 out of 100 mobs act like that, then you have a bit distraction and not the annoyance.

theres also a way to level a marksman alone nonstop but thats a trade secret :p

If they decide to make all mobs have the AI of the current batch of lvl 1-15 mobs. I'm deleting my Regnum folder and finding a new game to play. I thought the AI was glitched for 1-15, didn't know they did it purposefully. What the hell were they thinking?

Yah, the glitches are retarded, I've found way too many mobs that either run at me then run away in a hude loop bt never touch me or ones that don't react at all, hell, even the bosses glitch like this, you can often find graj, krontaron and jideniah not reacting at all to anything or anyone.
I had read aswell that the new ai on the experimental is that all mobs leave you alone if you move away for 5-6 secconds, for archers thats less then the cooldown of sheild peircing...
bring back the ai from a few months ago, and no not that shitty one where new mages got chased forever by a mob if they cast feline dex on another player and they hit a mob. That pissed me off allot when I was starting my warlock that anyone I cast feline dex on as a mage that the mob would instantly go and chase me down pretty much no matter where I was.
