War captain will go to "6 Users" one per subclass that invade an enemy realm at the point a fort is taken.

Each fort can have 6 war captains for a total 18 per realm

To become war captain you must....

1) Be 50m or closer to the fort when it is captured
2) Have The most RP of your class (plus condition 1)

War captains will be keep their current armor rates but the armor will change to realm guard colors
War captains will have a glowing aura around them and their words will be in RED
example- knight war captain, warlock war captain, marksman war captain would look like this when talking

[KWC] NightTwiX: Areas in 40 seconds!!
[WWC] Ramona: Terrors are all ready!
[MWC] Stallion: Let's do it

A bonus 20 rps is given to the players that kill the war captains


War captain is lost when....

1) Fort is recaptured by enemy
2) You log out
3) You walk more than 300m from fort

Just an idea to make RPs worth something to us....
It would also be nice if we could vote for a realm king/queen once a week. (For those that don't have RPs popularity still can help you ;) )

For Horus/Ignis, that would mean that every present at a fort capture is a war captain....

I think the idea rocks, not only because people will listen better I hope, but it will look real cool to I guess, so thats positive for little movies, screenshots etc to:metal::thumb_up::metal:

Like the idea of war captains, but I think that RP stats are not the right approach for choosing them. Having a ton of RP doesn't mean you have the ability to lead, and are respected by your fellow realm mates.

Maybe if it was a vote prior to invasion like if you are at least level 40 you would report to your castle and click an altar or something then type in the name of who you think would be the best leader for battle. This way the realm gets to choose.

I think the level restrictions good because it means that the voters have for nothing else been there awhile and have gotten to know the others in the army.

We have something like this currently, but without the flash. There are realm mates we trust to lead us and we listen to them.

what about people who have multiple alts and dont whore RP

i share my rp over 6 high level chars does that make me any less of a leader then joe farmsalot who only has no other chars and farms RP constantly.

its a good idea i disagree with it using RP to pick though.

This idea sounds good.
But i think only one captain per fort is enough.
when a fort is taken and upgrade to a new lvl 5.
the player that have the biggest Rp's number will received a message like :
"accept to be captain". if he accepts, he will receive extra power + some highlight.
if not. this message will be send to the next biggest rp's player.
Rps can be calculate like this : the total amount of rps on the account.
If the gate is vulnerable, the 3 captains will keep their status while door is vulnerable/broken.
Then, only them will be able to take the gems (well dunno if all of them crashed/log off).
This can bring more coordination during invasion, may be

High RP count does not equal ability (or willingness) to lead, but I like the idea anyway.

Add wosuhecy's idea so that the position can be declined. Don't give the Captain any additional bonuses, and make them worth extra RP if killed. DO make it obvious to enemies who the Captain is so that they can be easily targeted.

I generally like the ideas posted in this thread. As said before RP may not be the best way to decide the Captain but very good idea all the same.
It gets a 'yes' from me.

I only ok for captain message to appear in red. I don't think the rest is a good idea as a lot of people already play for rp only not applying strategy at all (team work is something they never heard about). RP bonus means they will focus on captain only.
About captain selection based on rp, i won't criticize it as i don't have a better idea.
Maybe we should be able to choose what player we want to see the message in red or highlighted?

Maybe chat should be more customizable (allow to drop in new tabs players you want to see the messages)

This link gives the only coded leadership I can agree with. If there have to be war captains, then I want my captain to be my choice.

And if the War captain don't want to look like guards ?
A lot of people spent enough Xim in the look, and probably wouldn't look like NPCs.

War captains will have a glowing aura around them and their words will be in RED

One question about the glowing aura : Do enemies can see it ?
I think it'd be a bad idea, the War Captains would just become aggro magnets, all the enemies will focus on them just to get the additional RP bonus (just imagine the Conjurer War Captain :/)


But generally, I don't agree with this idea, because like many others said, it shouldn't be based on RPs.

For the King/Queen idea, It'd be nice, but maybe every week would be too short and too redundant.

As to war captains, I don't see a problem with it, just because somebody talks in red letters, doesn't mean you have to obey them.

In general I can agree with the concept, I like the idea.

One addendum I would add, captains would automatically be partied for chat.
Only captains in that party. Help with long range coordination without all the spam (or spies) of rlm chat.

Interesting idea, I like the general concept. Pity that there isn't an easy system better than RPs to choose captains. Perhaps a sort of in-game reputation system would work? The system would have some similarities to karma:

Players can add to another person's reputation, with these limits:

Each player is limited to adding once per day, and penalties apply for adding several days in a row. After adding to that player for five days in a row, players may not add to that player again for a week.

Players cannot add to more than five other players' reputations per day.

Reputation adding is slightly lowered when adding to other clan members.

Reputation applies to accounts, not characters.

Players cannot add to their own reputation.


When a fort is captured, players can click the flag to view a list of the top 10 reputation-holding players in 50m of the fort. They may vote on a player for the first 30 seconds. The three top-voted players are chosen as captains.


Of course this idea is not perfect and probably needs a lot of adjusting, but at least it gives an alternative to RP-grinding as a way to be a leader, and lets players choose their own generals.

Interesting idea and also Flightcaps.

I would be good to have a point to having RP. The idea of a different color to indicate high RP has allways appealed to me...so you know who is either experienced or a total RP whore.

As it is now on Ra you have to play for years to get into the top rankings. Having an instant snapshot of who is the "top of the pops" is gratifying in itself.

Flightcaps idea is also good so cheers all the way around.
