Db dear, it's not like studies stop at the secondary cycle. There are several students in universities throughout the world, it's not a specific problem from Poland ^^. Studies can take years and you can learn (and so, be tested) all along your life.

Piz, sorry to hear about your palpitations problems :S. Did you tried tea ? (it contains caffeine too, beware of that - same molecule, same effects. But you can at least control the amount of caffeine with a tea ^^')
How is going the film ? And I don't want to hear that you're in a hurry again, pretty please ! XD

wow seems like you need more education to know about education :P

in poland it's like this:
Schools you HAVE to attend to, for free:
Basic school - 6 years till you're about 12
Middle school - usually 3 years till you're about 15
High school - usually 3-4 years till you're about 18, depends on type (you can pick specific education type and instead of basic education you can have a diploma already, stating you're an artist/mechanic/builder etc, but the school is more demanding and there's a lot of stuff to learn)
This ends the education required for everyone, then you can decide to continue.
Usually if you pass tons of exams, you can have free studies till you're 26, most of Academies and Universities take about 5 years, some 7, some 3.
If you can't pass the exams, but you're picked by the professors as well educated, you can pay and attend the studies during evenings and keep a morning job, or during weekends, and keep a daily job.

Even after that, if you have money, you can pay and be a student your whole life. That's the basics of society, the possibility to learn, they actually give you oppoturnities.

Now, depending on a school, there are exams you have to pass every half year. Usually January/February and then just before summer.
I do have to pass them as well. Normal education stuff, information, art's history, knowledge how to light a scene in the film properly etc.
Now, in my school there's more. Since each of us has to make a whole movie every year by ourselfs, without any workers avaible, they give us three months of summer to work. And then, when holidays are done, which are full of work for me, we have a film exam, which doesn't require knowledge, it's just judging our work. And only then we get to know if next day we can attend next year of studies. :P the end.

oh and as an additional note, thanks to our education system, Poland has one most well-educated young people. But still even if you have tons of titles and passed 7 year medical school, you end up as some fucking dish washer in British restaurant, cause we don't have jobs. BLARGH.

So, what's the problem with that? Some of us like to study, it's a way to get better everyday. Testing is just a small part of that. And if you think High School puts a lot of stress on you, then keeping a job will be impossible for you.

@Piz: Get better! I'll have to take care too, since I'm a hardcore coffee and tea drinker. In fact, I drink more caffeine than my whole family together. Do you know what's exactly causing your problems? Maybe adding some milk and reducing the amount of coffee can help (plus, milk has calcium).
PS: In Argentina we have a similar education model, where there are free universities and schools (we call them "public"). We also have quite a lot private schools and universities.

I hope, heck, I KNOW you will do quite well in your exams!

Don't take it too seriously. Suck at school is not suck at life, school is only one aspect unless you want to be a doctor or lawyer lol. The most important thing is skill in your field and the only field you think is important, and you've got tons.

Also remember, many teachers are complete morons, this is something i really believe and they only go with somethings that suit their interests best or what they agree with. I think this way with more than half of my university prof's.

One more thing ^^ Your field is art, a very subjective area. It's not like math where there is a correct answer black and white. If your teacher doesn't like your style or something, he/she will be biased. All your work I think is pure win, and I've looked at 100000's of drawings (pro and noob) believe me^^ Yours ranks up there imo, so F your teacher opinions xD and keep doing this stuff, you will get far believe me.

I know about the subject. I know what's like, and although I'm not proud of it, I can say that sometimes you learn much more from what went wrong than what you did right. Ideally, you would learn from other people's mistakes, but that isn't always possible.

But when you're trying really hard, when you put all your effort and still you fail, it shows you have reached the actual learning stage. It means there is something you don't know, or where you're not proficient yet. And it also means you have to make a hard choice: either you try to do better next time, or you give up.

I'm sure you are going to pick the first.

From now on, your goal changes from just passing your exams to actually becoming better. You are now pushing the boundaries of your experience and knowledge, something you could never have done just passing an exam (because teachers only have limited tools to measure how good you are, most of them which are flawed).

It's important you experience this early, so you realize this before you are too old and busy (and brainwashed) thinking that you can't do better and giving up.

Of course, take this with a pinch of salt. It doesn't mean you should fail on purpose, it means you should keep trying. :tonguey:

So, I won't tell you to cheer up; there's no way that would be helpful, you already know that. Instead, I thought this would be more useful to you.

In the first post of this thread I stated clearly, and I keep it on the website: I made this comic for my friends. Turned out many other people liked it. If you don't find it funny anymore, well I can't make people do stuff. I can't make you like everything. I don't expect everyone to laugh at the nerd jokes I put in the comic, I don't expect everyone to laugh at the gay jokes, I don't expect everyone to laugh at the game jokes.

I do understand your point, but I have a counter-point. I'm not the same person I was 4 years ago. The humour and my friends changed too. My own life experience became less full of joy, so the comic turns perhaps a bit despoiled of childish happiness, now filled with harsh and sometimes sarcastic jokes.

It also consists on what happened here, with the community. Edge was banned, all my old friends left the game, I made new ones. It's all different now, the comic just can't possibly be the same.





To cheer you up:
There are some serious parts of the plot coming. But the overall idea of the comic is to bring laugh. The sex, well I won't draw sex, but there's more love prepared, not only with Josephine. I am in long term relationship myself, the healthy view on sex is there, I just don't have to express it everywhere, right? :]

Of course the comic has changed.. Piz himself said he had grown up a bit, his view on life is different. So give him peace.

And as you may have noticed, NGD have dramatically changed the characters in the game, and i think Piz has kept up with the times on that fact.

I think your view is a bit crooked, not EVERY little person has a sick view on sex, you're generalising. I find it fun, beautiful, a normal activity for a human too. Just like swimming or eating. I find Piz's work similar to the Hammer Horror movies from the late 60's / early 70's, the reason for this is that they, for the time opened new boundries by adding scenes that were not only camp, but also for the time of a very sexual (both heterosexual and homosexual) nature. These movies are now considered by many to be among some the best horror movies of all time. Piz's work imho not dissimilar to their style and already has a huge following, his comic in time i think will be considered a classic. Also in these modern times, the content of the comic is pretty acceptable and similar types of content can be found pretty much everywhere these days

If someone does not like the content a certain show, movie, book etc. They always have the option and free will of not having to view or listen to it. I have no doubt that some people do not like everything Piz creates but for the most part, you only have to read the 8900+ posts on this thread to see that a lot of people actually do, not all but a huge majority. If you find something offensive within any publication it is your choice to carry on viewing or not viewing the content as is your right to do so, it is also your right to give constructive criticism or opinions when needed, but to be honest once you have given your opinion, you should then leave the subject well alone

The only thing that I can say to you is: If you don't like it, don't watch it. As I said before: People change, Humor change, the history of this comic also can change, because Piz feels more confortable developing a new idea for his comic. Dunno what is going to happen with the other characters, maybe someday Piz will return to them and continue their history. But gay or not gay, the fact is this comic is pretty amazing, and I can tell you that because I wasn't a huge fan of comics before this one.

First up , I like the comic. Very entertaining. The best part for me is that it represents, in a very comical way, the ongoing events in the Regnum world. The pages totally crack me up because nearly every page I can remember some event similar to that happening. It is funny because that stuff happens all the time in the game.

The poster page had me rolling on the floor. I don't give a shit about explicit. I am explicit by nature! The funniest one was the shadow of the guy that got the sword somehow stuck up his butt. I could just imagine the other guy shaking his his head and saying " you're doing it wrong!"
The little red riding wolf one was very funny too.

Reminds me of the full page spreads from Cracked magazine and Mad magazine.

Life is messed up as is, live a little and have fun. Enjoy the damn comic. I don't judge his stuff, I just look at it and feel the spirit in which it was drawn . This is how i see art.
Piz has a special talent there. The talent to capture the essence of a moment. Rare talent.

Art is an odd thing. I used to draw. For me the odd part is that your very best work is spawned when things are the most adverse for you in life. If you are able to see the beauty in your own stuff and somehow understand the imperfections in it are perfect (most great artists don't ) you would have transcended to a new level.

Keep it up Piz. you talent is so powerful it almost brings a tear to my eye every time I look at your pieces. Every time you evoke an emotion out of someone, no matter what that emotion is, you have succeeded.

You're really too kind :P it's a bit teenage'y style of drawing, but I'm trying to keep the overall style of the comic at the same level, you can't IMAGINE what pictures I'd love to draw there, but it's not a serious comic xD

Most likely. You can see a flat, elevated area somewhere there, which would be where the arena is located. The bridge just hasn't loaded at that distance.
